THANKSGIVING

BY: E M A A N W A R S Y
WHAT IS THANKSGIVING?

Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated in late November

Thanksgiving is celebrated because it reminds us of what we are thankful
for and makes us spend valuable time with our families.
This year Thanksgiving will be held on November 23, 2017 in the United
States.
HISTORY OF THANKSGIVING

The first Thanksgiving was held in the fall of 1621 by the Pilgrims and
Wampanoag Indians.
Most common meals during the Thanksgiving feast are, roast turkey with
stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and green beans.
President Abraham Lincoln declared a national Thanksgiving Day to be held
every November.
WHAT I DO FOR THANKSGIVING

For Thanksgiving in the morning me and my family go for the turkey trot. It
is a 5k race that you do for thanksgiving and when you come home you eat
turkey
When I come home I help my mom cook the feast
We eat turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberries, and rolls
WHAT I AM THANKFUL FOR

I am thankful for my family, food, and home

I am thankful for my clothes, money, and education
I am thankful for my transportation, friends, and teachers
WHAT IS THANKSGIVING NOW

The first thanksgiving went on for 3 days now it goes on for 1 day
We eat the same things that the Pilgrims ate for the first thanksgiving
The Pilgrims grew all the stuff they ate, but now usually we buy our things
at the grocery store
