Solarmobile

Our Car:

We have created the Solarmobile. It is a solar car that goes exactly five
meters.
Our car has a mass of 750 grams or 0.75 kilograms.
Each solar panel on our car had an area of 36 cm2.
The car had a constant velocity of 0.25 m/s. At the four meter mark it had
a velocity of 0.26 m/s. When the car reached the five meter point it had a
velocity of 0 m/s.
Distance and Time:

Our car went five meters in 20

seconds. Every four seconds it
went one meter.
Energy:

It had a kinetic energy of 0.0234 J

throughout the five meters. At four
meters the kinetic energy was
0.0254 J. Our car had a potential
energy of 3.888 J. The total and
thermal energies steadily increased.
The total energy maxed at 69.984 J.
The thermal energy maxed at
65.984 J.
Friction:

When the string pulls taut, it creates friction. This prevents the axle from
spinning and it stops our car. We also used friction to keep the solar panels
pointed at the sun. This maximised our collected energy! The wheels are also
fairly rough and they create friction. This allows it to travel over rough terrain
and flat surfaces.

Friction itself is caused by collisions and roughness on the microscopic scale.

Such as when you rub your hands together.
Selling Points:

Cost effective: Our design runs on solar power so it is free to use. You can
save money with our car because you dont have to pay the expensive gas
prices. It also does not release anything into the atmosphere.
Our car has an adjustable solar panel. You can change the angle of the
panel based off of where the sun is. It is easy to move and you can drive
no matter where the sun is.
This car is also very convenient for the passengers. They can easily come
out and nothing is holding them in like glue or tape.
The End!
