COW MANURE ADDITION

1st Supervisor: Dr. Ir. Kasam, M.T

2nd Supervisor: Anja Asmarany R, S.Si, M.Si
Examiner: Yebi Yuriandala, S.T., M.Eng
BACKGROUND
BACKGROUND

 In Yogyakarta, fruit wastes are disposed into Piyungan Landfill

 Fruit waste are counted as pra -consume food waste which can
be decomposed easily
 Cow manure are able to accelerate biodegradation process
OBJECTIVE

 1 . To analyse the influence of bioactivator addition to fruit

waste biodegradation
 2. To analyse fruit waste’s potential in methane production

Fruit Waste Cow Manure

4 kg of fresh cow manure are

taken from cow breeder in Bimo

4 kg of fruit waste are taken
from one Juice Outlet in

CONCLUSION

 For whole study, it can be concluded that biodegradation rate

with cow manure addition tend to occur faster
 Reactor with cow manure addition has 1 ,9 Liters of methane
which is much more than the other one (0,4 Liters). It proves
that cow manure addition of fers economic potential.
RECOMMENDATION

 Design transparent and smaller reactor to make observation

and measuring easier
 In reactor, it’s better to make sampling hole that can be
opened and closed properly to get rid of air
