• He was born somewhere in Banwen, United Kingdom in 385 AD.

• His real name was not Patrick, it was Maewyn Succat.

• His mother’s name was Conchessa and his father’s name was
Calpurnius.

• He also had a sister named Darerca.

• He lived a normal life until he was around 14 years old.

• Patrick was captured by pirates at the age of 14

• He was take to Ireland to be held captive as a slave


and he had to do hard labor.

• He was held captive for six years then he finally


escaped.

• Patrick had a dream about how he would escape and


get on a boat to go back to Britain where he originally
was.

• God saved him from slavery because He told Patrick


he would escape.

• He took a boat from Ireland back to Britain.

• Once they landed in Britain, the crew and Patrick


walked for 28 days in the wilderness.

• They became very hungry, so Patrick prayed to


God for mercy.

• A heard of wild boar then came, which Patrick


and the crew were able to eat the boar.

• Patrick finally returned home after being away for


six years and his family was very happy.

forgive those who held him captive.

• He retuned to Ireland and forgave


them, then preached to the rest of
Ireland.

• He is considered the patron Saint of


Ireland because of the work he did
there.

• Patrick was able to forgive those who


hurt him and forced him to slavery.
