MEFD123 : MANUFACTURING PROCESSES

Title: Industries visit (Metal working industry)

Student need to conduct a visit to metal working factory which involved in casting,
forming and shaping, machining, joining or finishing processes.
Aim of this task is to give an exposure to student to understand and witness actual
process in those industry. Theory have being given in class and this time, student need to
feel and see actual process.

Task type : Group


Number of pages : 15 pages
Format : follow UNITEN’s thesis format (font size, font type, spacing)
Due date : 24/8/2017 (12 noon)
--- if received late, mark will be deduct by each of 5 minutes late (1 mark and continues)

Content of PRESENTATION:
1) Introduction
2) Process flow of process witness (start until end)

- Presentation type : power point (need to send to lecturer ONE day before presentation)
(if not send on time, mark will be deduct as well)
- Time given : 5 minutes (exceed it will deduct the point)
- Slide quantity : maximum 5 slides
- Requirement : each student need to present (none of student will be skip from
presenting. Not presenting mean individual mark will be deduct)

3) Project Objectives
4) Detail of Project – explain in detail factory visited and technology that being selected
5) Literature review – 2 reference journal (check inside Science Direct). Compare with
journal whether this is new technology or not.

7) Summary
8) Letter of company visited (signed by their factory’s representative and stamp with
their factory’s logo)
