 Hear, see, talk  Analyse
Many are the Jinns and men We have made for Hell: they have hearts wherewith
they understand not, eyes wherewith they see not, and ears wherewith they
hear not. They are like cattle nay more misguided: for they are heedless (of
warning).
 Al-Araf [7:179] 

For the worst of beasts in the sight of Allah are the deaf and the dumb― those who
understand not.
 Al-Anfal [8:22] 

And there are those of them who hear you, but can you make the deaf to hear
though they will not understand?
 Yunus [10:42] 

And Allah has brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers-- you did not know
anything-- and He gave you hearing and sight and hearts that you may give
thanks.
 An-Nahl [16:78]

Wishful thinking Vs. Positive
thinking
After them succeeded an (evil) generation: they inherited the Book but they
chose (for themselves) the vanities of this world, saying (for excuse):
"(Everything) will be forgiven us." (Even so) if similar vanities came their
way, they would (again) seize them. Was not the covenant of the Book
taken from them, that they would not ascribe to Allah anything but the
truth? And they study what is in the Book. But best for the righteous is
the Home in the Hereafter: will ye not understand?
 Al-Araf [7:169] 

Those who reject Our signs, We shall gradually visit with punishment, in
ways they perceive not.
 Al-Araf [7:182] 

And why should not Allâh punish them while they hinder (men) from Al-
Masjid-Al-Harâm, and they are not its guardians? None can be its
guardian except Al-Muttaqûn (the pious), but most of them know not
 Al-Anfal [8:34]

Consistency
But when good befell them they said: This is
due to us; and when evil afflicted them, they
attributed it to the ill-luck of Musa and those
with him; surely their evil fortune is only from
Allah but most of them do not know.
 Al-Araf [7:131]

Don’t claim knowledge if you
don’t have it
They ask you about the Hour (Day of Resurrection):
"When will be its appointed time?" Say: "The
knowledge thereof is with my Lord (Alone). None
can reveal its time but He. Heavy is its burden
through the heavens and the earth. It shall not come
upon you except all of a sudden." They ask you as if
you have a good knowledge of it. Say: "The
knowledge thereof is with Allâh (Alone) but most of
mankind know not."
 Al-Araf [7:187]

(Again) Blind following
And when they commit an indecency they say: We found our
fathers doing this, and Allah has enjoined it on us. Say: Surely
Allah does not enjoin indecency; do you say against Allah what
you do not know?
 Al-Araf [7:28] 

Say: My Lord has only prohibited indecencies, those of them that

are apparent as well as those that are concealed, and sin and
rebellion without justice, and that you associate with Allah that for
which He has not sent down any authority, and that you say
against Allah what you do not know.
 Al-Araf [7:33]

Know your limits
I convey unto you the messages of my Lord and give good counsel unto you, and
know from Allah that which ye know not
 Al-Araf [7:62] 

And when they had entered as their father had bidden them, it did not avail them
aught against Allah, but (it was only) a desire in the soul of Yaqoub which he
satisfied; and surely he was possessed of knowledge because We had given
him knowledge, but most people do not know.
 Yusuf [12:68] 

He said: I only complain of my grief and sorrow to Allah, and I know from Allah what
you do not know.
 Yusuf [12:86] 

Then, when the bearer of the glad tidings arrived, he cast it (the shirt) over his face,
and he became clear-sighted. He said: "Did I not say to you, 'I know from Allâh
that which you know not.' "
 Yusuf [12:96]  -- Wait and see

See beyond physical
resources
O Prophet! urge the believers to war; if there
are twenty patient ones of you they shall
overcome two hundred, and if there are a
hundred of you they shall overcome a
thousand of those who disbelieve, because
they are a people who do not understand.

Claims vs. behavior
Say: If Allah had desired (otherwise) I would not have
recited it to you, nor would He have taught it to you;
indeed I have lived a lifetime among you before it;
do you not then understand?
 Yunus [10:16] 

O my people! I do not ask of you any reward for it; my

reward is only with Him Who created me; do you not
then understand?

Learn the language
Surely We have revealed it-- an Arabic Quran--
that you may understand.

Learn from others’
experiences
And We have not sent before you but men from
(among) the people of the towns, to whom
We sent revelations. Have they not then
travelled in the land and seen what was the
end of those before them? And certainly the
abode of the hereafter is best for those who
guard (against evil); do you not then
understand?
 Yusuf [12:109]

Find opportunity to learn in
any situation
And the man of Egypt who bought him said to
his wife: Give him an honorable abode,
maybe he will be useful to us, or we may
adopt him as a son. And thus did We
establish Yusuf in the land and that We might
teach him the interpretation of sayings; and
Allah is the master of His affair, but most
people do not know.

Look at the origins of concepts
You do not serve besides Him but names which
you have named, you and your fathers; Allah
has not sent down any authority for them;
judgment is only Allah's; He has commanded
that you shall not serve aught but Him; this is
the right religion but most people do not know

And We did not send before you any but men
to whom We sent revelation-- so ask the
followers of the Reminder if you do not know

Understand before you judge
And when We put a revelation in place of
(another) revelation, - and Allah knoweth best
what He revealeth - they say: Lo! thou art but
inventing. Most of them know not.
