* In the process of learning, teachers are the
individual who responsible for applying and
exposing the students to a variety of
approaches that stimulate their thinking.
* Various efforts have been taken by the Ministry
of Education (MOE) to improve our education
system.
* HOTS emphasized in the curriculum as it may
help the students to promote and develop the
intellectual skills
* The general aim of the article is to find out the
teacher’s opinion on higher order thinking skills
(HOTS).
* Issues such as difficulties of teaching
Mathematics which involves HOTS are also
covered in this article.
* Qualitative methodology – data collected
through interview section
* Audio recording equipment was used during the
interview section with the permission of
respondent
* Only two questions were asked to respondent
a) What is your opinion on HOTS?
b) What are the difficulties on teaching HOTS to
students especially on Mathematics lesson?
* Purposive sampling method is used to select the
respondent which suits to the aim of the study.
* 2 respondents were involved.
