 burning of different kinds of fuel
- burning wood, fireplaces, oil refining, industrial
activities, controlled burn
 mobile sources and stationary sources like
power plants, manufacturing factories
- motor vehicles and aircraft release the chemicals and
particulates such as chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), and
nitrogen oxides
- PVC factories, metals production factories, plastics
factories, and other heavy industry
 paint, hair spray, varnish, aerosol spray
and other solvents
- release the fumes
 waste deposition in landfills
- chlorinated hydrocarbons (CFH), heavy metals,
zinc, arsenic and benzene produce methane
 pesticides and fertilizers
- applied in farm, run off into streams and rivers,
contaminating the fresh water
- excessive nutrients stimulate the growth of
aquatic plants and algae
 chemical and industrial processes
- hazardous liquid waste like solvents and
radioactive materials
 oil spills, routine shipping, run-offs and
dumping
- oil cannot dissolve in water ,thick sludge form
in the water
 noise of road, aircraft noise, industrial noise
and even the high intensity sonar.
