SMPS is the main supply which converts

230 V AC supply into 3 V – 12 V DC .It
provides power to motherboard , CPU ,
All add on cards(like sound , display,
graphics, internal, TV tuner card etc.)
It also provides power supply to harddisk ,
floppy disk drive ,CD-ROM drive and
other such internal device.
 HARDDISK

A hard disk drive(often shortened

as hard disk, hard drive, or HDD) is
a non-volatile storage device that
stores digitally encoded data on
rapidly rotating 
rigid (i.e. hard) platters with
magnetic surfaces.

of CPU is known as microprocessor
