Qualification of Material Testing Laboratory
 Satisfy Recommended Requirements for Independent Laboratory
Qualifications.
 Satisfy basic requirements of ASTM B-329 .
Submit copy : report of inspection of facilities .
Testing Equipment:
Calibrate at maximum 12- month traceable either:
•National Bureau of Standards.
•Accepted values of natural physical constants.
Submit a copy of certificate of calibration.

 Laboratory Duties:

Cooperate with Project Manager and Contractor.

Perform specified inspections, sampling and testing of materials :

•Comply with specified standards.
•Ascertain compliance with requirements of Contract Documents.

Notify Project Manager and Contractor of irregularities.

Submit copies of reports of inspections including:

 • date issued;

• project title and number;

• laboratory name and address;

• name and signature of inspector;

• date of inspection or sampling;

• record of temperature and weather;

• date of test;

 • identification of product and specification section.

•location of project;

• type of inspection or test;

•observation s regarding compliance with Contract Documents.

 Stamp fabricated items.

 Quality Control

 The laboratory is not authorized to:

•Release, revoke, alter, or enlarge on requirements of Contract

Documents.

• Approve or accept any portion of work;

•Perform any duties of the Contractor.

 Contractor's Responsibilities to Testing Laboratory.

 Cooperate with Laboratory personnel, provide access to work.

 Provide laboratory with preliminary representative samples.

 Furnish copies of mill test reports are required;

 Furnish labor and facilities which required to;

• Provide access to work to be tested;

• Obtain and handle samples at the site;

  Contractor shall secure approval from Project Manager:

•Facilitate inspections and tests;

•Provide space for storage and curing.

 Notify laboratory sufficiently in advance.

Repair and Protection

 Repair and protection is the Contractor's responsibility

 Source of Material

 Project Manager shall be notified of resources .

 Contractor shall furnish Certificates of Compliance.
