1. Introducing Yourself to Hospital Team
Dale is an emergency nurse from the Nurse Pro
Agency. He is a Canadian but he (1)… (not live) in

2. Reading a Nursing Schedule
 Telling the Time:
 Nurses use the twelve-hour clock when they talk to
patients, visitors, and colleagues
 eg: 12.00 : twelve o’clock ; 15.00 : three o’clock pm

 Nurses often use the 24-hour clock for schedules,


documents, and charts
 eg: 08.20 : eight twenty ; 14.00 : fourteen o’clock
3. Meet Patient and Their Visitors

1. Touch the wounds, drips, catheters, or medical
equipment
2. Visit more than two at a time
3. Use the patient’s toilet
4. Bring flowers into the wards
5. Visit the hospital if you are suffering from a bad cold,
flu, diarrhea, and/or vomiting
6. Bring children under 12 to visit (unless agreed in
advance)
