2 KINDS OF MOTIVATION

Intrinsic motivation occurs when people are


internally motivated to do something because it either
brings them pleasure, they think it is important, or they feel
that what they are learning is morally significant.

Extrinsic motivation comes into play when a student


is compelled to do something or act a certain way
because of factors external to him or her (like money or
good grades)
SELF-EFFICACY

 Psychologist Albert Bandura has defined self-efficacy as one's


belief in one's ability to succeed in specific situations or
accomplish a task. One's sense of self-efficacy can play a major
role in how one approaches goals, tasks, and challenges.
EFFICACY

 the ability to produce a desired or intended result.


SELF-ESTEEM

 Relates to a person’s sense of self-worth.
