SATAY BUILDING BANDUNG
• Gedung sate is a public building in Bandung, west java,
Indonesia. It was designed according to a neoclassical
design incorporating native Indonesian elements by dutch
architect j. Gerber to be the seat of the dutch east indies
department of transport, public works and water
management; the building was completed in 1920. Today,
the building serves as the seat of the governor of the
province of west java

DESIGN AND
CONSTRUCTION
• Gedung Sate was built on July 27, 1920. Originally called GB
or Gebe Building which stands for Gouvernments
Bedrijven.But, most people call it with Gedung Sate because
of a similar satay puncture at the top of the building Symbols
are often called the satay puncture is actually satay puncture
with six ornaments shaped water apple. Satay puncture and six
round ornaments show construction costs that cost 6 million
guilders
• Satay buildings is a construction involving 2,000 workers, 150 of
whom are wood carvers and Chinese wood carvers. The rest of the
majority of workers are indigenous Sate Building Design is the work
of architect J Berger. Architectural style satay buildings is a blend of
east and west faces supported by advanced construction techniques
from the West.
• Satay buildings stands on an area of ​approximately 27 thousand
square meters with a building area of ​more than 10 thousand square
meters. The majority of satay buildings construction consists of
natural stone and brick. The wall is made of large stone pieces taken
from the hilly area of ​stone in East Bandung.
