 About Our School

This Vidyalaya was established in 1983. It was

running in a temporary building provided by the
defense authorities. It was situated at Jaisalmer
Road opposite telephone exchange. The defense
authorities have provided 11.7 Acres land in the
cantonment to KVS for permanent building of the
vidyalaya. At Present this Vidyalaya is running in
 Method of Admission :
(a) For Class I- No admission test would be conducted for admission to class I. All appli-
cations received would be divided into seven categories in order of priority as laid down in
para 2 above. Each list would be taken up for admission in order of priority to the ex- tent
vacancies are available. When a stage is reached that the list of one category can- not be
fully accommodated for admission, the following procedure shall be adopted:-
(i) If the list is of children of cat-1 shortlisting for admissions would be done on the basis of
the number of transfers of the parent dur- ing the last seven years. The children whose
parents have been transfered more number of times would get precedence over children,
whose parents have been transferred less number of times.
(ii) If the list of any other category except cat1, the names of all childrens of the cat- egory
which cannot be fully accommodated would be written on small slips of paper sepa- rately
and placed in a box after suitably fold ing the slips. Children from this category would be
selected by a draw of lot from the slips so placed in this box. For transparency, this draw of
lot will be done in the presence of the concerned parents to the extent fea- sible.
(b) Class II and above - For admission to these classes an admission test would be
conducted and a merit list prepared for each category of priority separately. Admission
would be given in order of merit going by the sequence of the cat- egories as prioritised in
para 2.
(c) Candidates securing less than 35% marks in each subject and less than 40% marks in
ag- gregate would not be eligible for admission irre- spective of their category in the
priority.
(d) Admission test would be of the level of the annual examination of the class preceding
the one to which admission is being sought.
(e) An admission test would be conducted in the following subjects-
(1) Primary classes (except class I) - English, Hindi & Maths
(2) Middle classes-Hindis, English, Math & Gen. Knowledge.
(3) Secondary classes-Hindi, English, Maths, Social Studies & Scinence.
(f) Some concession can be given for deficiency in language (Hindi & English). An assurance
would be required in writing from the parent that the language deficiency in the child would
be removed within the academic session.
