JAYPEE REWA PLANT
Topics For Discussion

• Introduction of company.

• Manufacturing process of cement.

JAYPEE CEMENTS
 Jaypee cement is a sub division of jaiprakash associates Ltd.
 Mr. Jaiprakask Gaur is the Founding father of Jaiprakash
Associates Ltd.
 Mr. Manoj Gaur is the Executive chairman of this company.

 First plant is Set up in 1986 in REWA District.

 3rd largest cement production company in INDIA.
 Total cement capacity 21.30 MnTPA.

 Capacity of Jaypee Rewa cement plant is 3.50 MnTPA.

Use of cement

 Production of mortar.

 Production concrete.

 Construction works
CEMENT

 Made by heating limestone with small

quantities of other material(such as laterite) to
1450 degC in a kiln.
 Resulting hard substance , called ‘clinker’ .

 Clinker grounded with small amount of gypsum

to make ’Ordinary Portland Cement’.
RAW MATERIALS

 Calcium oxide(CaO)

 Silica or (SiO2)
silicon dioxide.

 Alumina(Al2O3)

 Gypsum(CaSO4.2H20)

STEPS
IN MANUFACTURING
OF
CEMENT
Mixing of raw materials

 After crushing , the raw materials are mixed .

 Depending upon what minerals are in the raw

mixture, there is further addition of desired
minerals such as silica and iron.
 Certain types of cement also require alumina

oxide.

 The mixture is prepared in terms of fixed ratio.

RAW MILL
 This section is
working with the
fine grinding of
raw material .
 The size limit is
80-90 microne.
 Grinding of raw
material is required
for proper burning
&calcination .
PRE HEATER
Raw meal
(powder) then goes
to pre heater for
removal of CO2
Preheater temp
850 decg celcius.
There are six
stage present in
preheating tower of
first unit at JRP.
ROTARY KILN
From preheater the
powder goes to rotary
kiln.
The kiln is adjusted
at an angle so that the
powder moves slowly
from top to bottom.
The temp of the kiln
reaches to about 1600
to 1700 degree celcius.
COAL MILL
Large size of coal
is ground to the
size of 90 micron.
Coal from coal
mill is used to feed
kiln and calciner.
Outlet tem of
coal is different in
different seasons.
CLINKER
 Clinker is the solid material
produced by the cement kiln
 Typically of diameter 3-25 mm
 It is cooled down to about 60 to 80
deg celcius to obtain quality cement.
 The clinker goes to the storage
area called as clinker silo.
CEMENT MILL
 The last stage of cement making is final grinding of
clinker.

 The grinding is done by two types of mill

Ball mill.
Vertical roller mill.
BALL MILL
 Mixture of clinker
and gypsum is
transferred to a hopper
 Then is fed to the
mill from the hopper.
 The mixed material
then passes to Pre-
crushed chamber.
Then the material
passes to fine grinding
chamber.
CEMENT SILOS
There are six
cement silos in
‘JAYPEE REWA
CEMENT PLANT’
capacity of each
cement silo is 3000
tons.
The cement from
silo feed to the
bucket elevator.
PACKING PLANT
 In this section the cement is extracted from
several cement silos and fed to the rotary packer for
packing in to the bags. The weight of each bag is
50kg.
 There are 4 packers used in old packing plant with
the capacity of 80-90 TPH each.
 And 3 packers are used in new packing plant with the
capacity of 100-120 TPH each.
