1 TO 2 YEARS
HOW YOUR BABY USES HER HANDS
• In this year the baby will move from figer feeding to trying to use a spoon.
• Also the baby can learn to drop toys into buckets or bowls
• The child may enjoy making marks on paper with crayons
• The baby will be able to stack 2 or 3 blocks to make a tower
• The baby also may enjoy simple shape sorters or puzzles after 18 months
HOW YOUR BABY MOVES
• Your child will use lots of energy to learn to walk.
• Your child will learn how to roll and kick a ball, the child will try to go up
the steps.
HOW YOUR BABY COMMUNICATES

• He’ll answer simple questions and he’ll understand the difference when you
ask a question or make a statement. He’ll also know what it means when you
say ‘no’ or ‘not’.
• Your child will try to make it easier for you to understand her by combining
words, gestures and sounds and by changing the tone of her voice.
• And your child will enjoy imitating the actions of people around him, and start
to understand how to get attention from others by ‘showing off’.

OTHERS
• Your child is learning to communicate by
using words and facial expressions.
• Your child may say "No" when he means
"yes", the more often you uses the word "no"
your child will use it as well, so really use it
when needed. He or she will start to
recognize himself in the mirror.
• He will play with other children but he will
not learn to share until 3 or 4 years old. Your
child may show jealousy when he is not the
center of attention.
