Cognition
- It is a way of thinking;
- a process through which we acquire
knowledge and skills.
Metacognition
- refers to the learners’ understanding
and control of their cognitive process.

STRATEGIES IN METACOGNITION
Rehearsal is an important tool used in order
to remember a long list of items or objects
which need our attention and memory.
Two types:
• Maintenance refers to low-level repetitive
kind of information practice
• Elaborative is extending the knowledge
about the information by giving examples

Clustering is another in which we tend to
put some items or things to remember ino
meaningful organization.
Elaboration occurs when we enrich new
information by adding extra information from
our own schema.
Two categories: Verbal E. and Image E.
Systematic searching is the information is
processed from shallow to deep process
