COMPARATIVE USAGE
Plus … que More Than
Moins … que Less Than
Aussi … que As ... as

Remember to make agreement in number and gender between the adjective and the noun
that is being described.

Claire est plus intelligente qu’Éva. Claire is more intelligent than Eva.

Mes parents sont plus âgés que moi. My parents are older than me.

Stéphane est aussi fatigué que Luc. Stéphane is as tired as Luc.

Mon prof d’anglais est moins rigolo que mon My English teacher is less funny than my French

SUPERLATIVE USAGE
Superlative adjectives are used to describe an object which is at the upper or lower limit of a quality
(the tallest, the smallest, the fastest, the highest).
Make adjective agreement in number and gender with the noun that is being described.
Use LE, LA or LES in front of the adjective (depending on the number and gender of the person, place or
thing that is being described) just as you would say THE in English.

Claire est la plus intelligente. Claire is the most intelligent.

Mes parents sont les plus âgés. My parents are the oldest.

Stéphane est le plus fatigué. Stéphane is the most tired.

Mon prof d’anglais est le moins rigolo. My English teacher is the least funny.
