• To Develop and demonstrate a proof of
concept system that prevents aircraft hijacking

• This system is based on RFID technology

INTRODUCTION
Aircraft hijacking is the unlawful seizure of an aircraft by an individual or a
group. In most cases, the pilot is forced to fly according to the orders of the
hijackers.
INTRODUCTION
ABSTRACT
• A proof of concept system is developed and demonstrated to prevent hijacking attempt of

aircraft. . The system is mainly based on PIC Microcontroller ,PC and the control program is

written in the scripting language embedded C .

• The system will disable manual control of the aircraft, if a particular condition is met

persistently beyond the predefined time limit. The condition to be met is simultaneous

detection two authorised RFID tags for more than a predefined time period of 10 seconds.

• The system is seen to be operated till the time period of 10 seconds and becomes inoperative

and is seen to take control of aircraft by triggering auto pilot beyond 10 seconds. The system

will not allow any manual input such as disabling the system since this can result in

vulnerability.

• As a part of the literature survey is carried out to get details
of other anti aircraft hijacking systems explored in the past.

• As seen in the literature survey, all the proposed mechanism

have a drawback of either operating from the cabin or a
possibility to disable the system manually.

• Two RFID sensors and tags, two servos and one joy stick
were used in this work.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
• Safety and security are the most common sought things in any phase of human life.
As air travel becomes available to every region across the globe, the number of air
travelers is increasing year by year.

• Inevitably, anti-social elements are also looking for modern ways to harm and
threaten the society. One can also notice in the figure that there are several hijack
attempts reported across several years.

• Hijacking of aircraft is one of the methods they use and we come across the news
about hijacking of aircrafts very often. While the layers of security is increased to
mitigate these kind of ill efforts, the anti-social elements somehow end up getting
into the plane and carry out their hijacking mission.

• In this regard, we propose a system that ensures the safety of the
passengers, aircrew and the aircraft by taking control of the aircraft by
itself which refuses the controlling of aircraft by any human efforts, if a
particular condition is met.
• This proposed system consist of two units. Monitoring unit and controlling
unit. In monitoring unit Two RFID system are in the form of wearable
device to the crew.
• Both RFID’s are read by the RFID reader simultaneously at a particular
time mans there is some abnormality is founded. So, monitoring unit
enables the flight mode as automatic mode.
ADVANTAGE
• It prevents aircraft hijacking of flight.
• Continuous monitoring of flight will used to
product the flight form terrorist.
• Automatic mode help to navigate the flight in
right place.
