INTRODUCTION
• Located in HUBLI

• Founded in the year 2004 to address two challenges of India -


hunger and education
• It providing unlimited, wholesome food to attract children to
schools, retain them and then focus on children’s holistic
development.

• The program started in a humble way in the year 2000 serving


1500 children in five schools in Bangalore.

• Presently it is feeding 1,186,206 children in 1,000 government


schools in eight locations in India.

 VISION : No child should be deprived of education
because of hunger.

 MISSION :To feed over 5 million children by 2020.


PROCESS FLOW
 Produces 175000 meals within 5hrs.
 Cooking starts at 2:30am and packing and processing is
completed by 7:15am.
 Building has 3 floors
 Top floor – Preprocessing area
 Middle floor – Cooking area
 Ground floor – Packing and Dispatch

 Raw rice is cleaned to remove adulterants.

containers of 100kg)
 1200liters of sambar is prepared which is mixed with

Packaging and Loading area
 3500-4000 containers are filled with sambar and rice.
 Loading starts at 7.15 am with barcodes.
 40 vans equipped with GPS travel total of 3000km across
Dharwad city.
 Tracking is done through the control room.
Future Work
 They are planning to serve 5 million students across
INDIA in 2020.
 Planning to tie up with different NGOs and Private
sectors.

INTRODUCTION RTPS
 It was established in 1986
 The Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) had
established coal fired thermal power stations of 7x210
MW units.
 40% of total electricity produced in Karnataka.
 RTPS uses coal for generation of electricity.
 Daily requirement of coal is about 24,000 metric ton.
 Water for cooling tower is taken from river Krishna.

 Coal handling system (250mm)
 Ash handling system
 Boilers (capacity 670T/hr and 540c)
 Turbine (Axial flow 155kg/cm2 pre)
 Generator and Transformer
 Condenser (43c to 34c)
 Cooling tower
PROCESS
 The coal is pulverized and fed into furnaces that convert water
into steam. This steam runs the turbines to generate electricity.
each unit produces about 1720MW per day when it is
functioning at full capacity.
SHILPA MEDICARE

INTRODUCTION
 Shilpa Medicare is one of the leading
manufacturing of oncology and non-oncology
drugs in Karnataka.
 It was started in the year 1987.
 The company first started the production of
Trimethoprim.
 Then it moved on in the production of
Norfloxacin.
 With increasing of cost of healthcare around the
country, Shilpa Medicare aims in providing
affordable healthcare.

PROCESS
 Reactors are vessels which are designed to contain
chemical reactions.
 Shilpa Medicare uses Continuous stirred-Tank Reactors
(CSTR).
 The reactors are made of SS316l material having a
capacity of 5 Kg.
 They are operated at a designed temperature of -25C to
160C & at a pressure of 6 Bar.
 They are also provided with heat exchanger of shell and
tube type.
