ரரோமர் 16:1-2

ககங் கிநேயா ஊே் சடைக்கு ஊழியக்காேியாகிய நம் முடடய சநகாதேி கைநையாடள நீ ங் கள்
கே்த்தருக்குள் ைேிசுத்தவான்களுக்நகை் ைைடி ஏை் றுக்ககாண்டு எந்தக் காேியத்தில் உங் கள் உதவி
அவளுக்குத் நதடவயாயிருக்கிைநதா அதிநல நீ ங் கள் அவளுக்கு உதவிகசய் ய நவண்டுகமன்று
அவடள உங் களிடத்தில் ஒை் புவிக்கிநைன்; அவள் அநநகருக்கும் எனக்குங் கூட
ஆதேவாயிருந்தவள் .

Rome’s capital city was like a magnet; it drew people from all over the empire. Some of the people Paul met and
converted in places like Antioch of Syria, Philippi, Athens, Corinth, Ephesus, etc. may have eventually moved to Rome.
This would explain why Paul knew so many of the people who were living at Rome. He had met and perhaps worked
with them in the past. The list of names in this chapter also tells us that Paul tried to stay in touch with the people he
knew.

Almost 26 names were listed as much as I could count…

One of the people Paul remembered was “Phoebe”. Since the church was to “receive her” many believe
she carried this letter to the Christians in Rome.
Subject : “ஊழியக்கோரி” (v1)
Diakonas = Deaconess = Female Servant = ஊழியக்காேி / நவடலக்காேி / Assistant
Question arises when a women takes an office.
Even wrongly if men speaks - none bothers.. but why only when women speaks up in the pulpit?
Can women teach? 1Tim 2:11-12
Women are to teach other women - Tit 2:3-5
What about Acts 2:17 – குமாேரும் குமாேத்திகளும் ... Did not the early church have prophetesses?
1. Philip’s daughters spoke God’s Word - Acts 21:9, but it doesn’t state who they taught.
Those looking for an excuse for women teachers and preachers are assuming they taught men, but
it is not mention and if they did it would violate other clear passages. (1Cor 14:34, 1Tim 2:12)

Women as Deaconess (in Terms of Serving/Supporting) in NT Era

A. Dorcas aided the poor by making coats - Acts 9:36-39
B. The woman preparing Jesus - Matt 26:7-13
C. Phoebe - Rom 16:1-2
D. Euodia and Syntycha - Phil 4:2-3

Women as leaders in NT Era ?

A. In the offices of the church, both elders and deacons are specifically described as male duties
1Tim 3:2-7 for Elders
3:8-13 for Deacons / Servants

Can a woman be ordained as Pastor ?

Pastor is a preacher. Women are not able to be preachers since God through Paul stated உைநதசம்
ைண்ணவும் , புருஷன்நமல் அதிகாேஞ் கசலுத்தவும் , ஸ்திேீயானவளுக்கு நான் உத்தேவு
ககாடுக்கிைதில் டல; அவள் அடமதலாயிருக்கநவண்டும் " (I Tim 2:12).

Minister speaks with Authority - "Tit 2:15 இடவகடள நீ நைசி, நைாதித்து, சகல அதிகாேத்நதாடும்
கடிந்துககாள் . ஒருவனும் உன்டன அசட்டடைண்ண இடங் ககாடாதிருை் ைாயாக. " (Titus 2:15).

கண்காணி / பிஷை் / Overseer / Elder / Pastor = all are same !! And for individual Congregations !!
Acts 14:23; 20:17, 28; Tit 1:5-9; 1Pet 5:1-3

Biblically, a pastor is another word for an elder or bishop of a church. Elders have specific qualifications,
one of which is "the husband of one wife" (Titus 1:6). This qualification automatically rules out women.

Similarities and Differences

A. In some ways men and women are the same
1. Both are made in God’s image - Gen 1:26
2. Both are equal in the regards to salvation - Gal 3:28
3. Men and women are joint heirs of life - I Peter 3:7
4. Some stop there and say “See women and men can fulfill the same roles within the church.”
B. However, God has always insisted that the distinction between men and women be maintained.
1. Men and women’s clothing must be distinct - Deut 22:5
2. Men and women’s hairstyles are to be distinctive - I Cor 11:14-15
3. Difference in the approach to worship - I Cor. 11:4-5
4. In the Old Law, there were many difference made between men and women.
a. There were difference in purification after the birth of a male and female child - Lev 12:2-8
b. There were differences in the release from a vow - Lev. 27:2-4

In between – Apparently Paul remembered this warning..

Rom 16:17 அன்றியும் சநகாதேநே, நீ ங் கள் கை் றுக்ககாண்ட உைநதசத்திை் கு விநோதமாய் ை் பிேிவிடனகடளயும்
இடைல் கடளயும் உண்டாக்குகிைவே்கடளக்குறித்து எச்சேிக்டகயாயிருந்து, அவே்கடள விட்டு
விலகநவண்டுகமன்று உங் களுக்குை் புத்தி கசால் லுகிநைன். (Rom 1:16-17, 3:21-31)

Rom 16:18 அை்ைடிை்ைட்டவே்கள் நம் முடடய கே்த்தோகிய இநயசு கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு ஊழியஞ் கசய் யாமல் தங் கள்
வயிை் றுக்நக ஊழியஞ் கசய் து, நயவசனிை்பினாலும் இச்சகை்நைச்சினாலும் , கைடில் லாதவே்களுடடய (Innocent)
இருதயங் கடள வஞ் சிக்கிைவே்களாயிருக்கிைாே்கள் . False teachers were a danger to all the churches. Paul urged his
Roman readers to avoid them. 2 Pet 2:18, Jud 1:16, 2 Tim 2:18, Phil 3:19, 1 Tim 6:5, 2 Cor 11:13-15

Rom 16:19 உங் கள் கீழ் ை்ைடிதல் யாவருக்கும் கதேியவந்திருக்கிைது. ஆடகயால் உங் கடளக்குறித்துச்
சந்நதாஷை்ைடுகிநைன்; ஆனாலும் நீ ங் கள் நன்டமக்கு ஞானிகளும் தீடமக்குை்
நைடதகளுமாயிருக்கநவண்டுகமன்று விரும் புகிநைன்.

16:19 Paul was confident that his readers could handle this threat because they had a reputation for following the apostles'
instructions. The innocent among God's people tend to accept false teachers, and the wise normally reject them.

Rom 16:20 சமாதானத்தின் நதவன் சீக்கிேமாய் ச் சாத்தாடன உங் கள் கால் களின் கீநழ நசுக்கிை்நைாடுவாே்.
நம் முடடய கே்த்தோகிய இநயசு கிறிஸ்துவினுடடய கிருடை உங் களுடநனகூட இருை்ைதாக. ஆகமன்.

கசாசிைத்தரும் உங் கடள வாழ் தது
் கிைாே்கள் .

Rom 16:22 இந்த நிருைத்டத எழுதின கதே்தியுவாகிய நான் கர்த்தருக்குள் உங் கடள வாழ் தது் கிநைன்.
Col 4:18 ைவுலாகிய நான் என் டகயினால் எழுதி, உங் கடள வாழ் தது
் கிநைன். நான் கட்டை்ைட்டிருக்கிைடத
நிடனத்துக்ககாள் ளுங் கள் . கிருடை உங் கநளாடிருை்ைதாக. ஆகமன்.
