Practice Practice Behavior 2.1 Apply and communicate understanding of the importance of diversity and difference in shaping life experiences in practice at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels. • I would do this by ensuring that I talk with each client in a way that shows knowledge of that individuals culture, and takes into account experiences that they have gone through as a result of their culture and how it may have effected them because of where they grew up. Practice Behavior 2.2 • Present themselves as learners and engage clients and constituencies as experts of their own experiences. • When talking to individuals, I will ask them questions about the things that they have experienced so that I can learn more about them as a person and how they feel there experiences affected them. Practice behavior 2.3 • Apply self-awareness and self-regulation to manage the influence of personal biases and values in working with diverse clients and constituencies. • When I was talking with a person during my internship he mentioned working with a specific group of people which I had a bad experience with. However because I was aware of my feelings in regards to that community I did not let personal biases or values change the way that I interacted with him.
