I have got a new book.

We use the verb to have got to…


… say that something belongs to
someone.
Kate has got a new laptop.
… to describe somebody.
 She’s got big blue eyes.
Note: The verb “have got” only
changes in the 3rd person
singular
(he / she / it has got)
Pay attention: The short form of
has (‘s) is the same as the short
form of is (‘s).
We form the negative by
putting “not” between “has” or
“have” and “got”.

- He has not got a pen.


- He hasn’t got a pen.
