INTRODUCTION

A natural disaster is a major adverse event resulting from
natural processes of Earth .

EARTHQUAKE
 An earthquake is the shaking of the
surface of the earth resulting from the
sudden release of energy in the Earth’s
lithosphere that creats seismic waves.
 CAUSES:
 Mining activities
 Volcanic erruptions

 2017: India, Bangladesh . Magnitude of
5.7
 2015: Nepal, India. Magnitude of 7.8
with 8,964 deaths and around 21,952
injuries.
 1975: Himachal Pradesh. Magnitude of
6.8 with 47 deaths.
FLOOD
 Flooding occurs when an extreme
volume of water is carried by river and
many other geographical features into
areas where the water cannot be
drained adequately.

TORNADO
 A tornado is a type of storm in which
powerful rotating winds form a column,
which reaches from a cloud down
toward the ground.
 The winds of a tornado are the
strongest on Earth
 . They may reach speeds of up to 300
miles per hour.

In Calcutta on 8th april 1838 reported


fatalities of 215 people.
In New Delhi on 17th march 1978 reported
fatalities of 115 people.
In West Bengal on 9th april 1993 reported
fatalities of 145 people.
