Production Management
Location Scouting/Copyright
Locations for Clay by Samuel Thorhill:
• From pages 1-6 the exterior of the scenes will be taken place in Moorland,
moorland is found in highland areas such as Wales. These environment have
low-growing vegetation due to the acid in the soil. These places looks scarce,
dull and lifeless the ambience of this environment compliments the interior
location that the characters work in: a mortuary.
• The script is filled with tension and mystery and the locations should reflect
that. The next interior is the bar, this location allows the characters to
converse, the bar will be old, dark and uneasy due to the ambience and the
type of faces that frequent there, this location will allow tension to be built
between both characters.
• Wales would be the most appropriate place to create this setting with various
highland with a bar culture all around.

Copyright:
• This script will use non copyrighted content. Clothing and other copyrighted
items will be edited out. Music will be made by the crew and all of the sounds
will be diegetic.
Budget
• In order to set a budget, we researched after pre-made
templates. We found one suitable and then we did our
calculations from the perspective that we are using student
voluntary on such as publicity and make-up.
• Seeing a premade template, you get a sense on how much
expenses there really is. For example, travelling costs,
wardrobe and set constructions are costs that I would not
think about if I would have set the budget up by myself.
• I therefore, think it is very useful using a template. That is
something I will bring with me for upcoming jobs or
assignments, to actually have a look at a template before to
see if there are any unexpected costs that you have not
thought about from the beginning.
Storage
• During shoots; there will be a person guarding the van.

• During Night: since our first set is taking place at

Edgware, we are going to keep the equipment stored
over night at Safestore 47 High Street, HA8 7DD. This is
the closest storage within this location that offers 24/7
security. Our second destination is Wembley and
Harrow and we have, therefore, decided to bring back
the equipment to University of Westminster in order to
save in on the budget.
Cast
• Dead Man - Our first man who is about to be getting murdered is in his
mid 40’s good looking wearing a high end designer suit. He’s suit is soaked
because of the weather and he’s is also scared for his life.
• Francis - is a pale skinned and dark haired 25 year old smoker who is
working at the mortuary. He is clearly not working out since his posture is
slouchy with a bit of a thin and curious voice. In the shots where Francis
are working he is wearing white scrubs. When he is off work he is typically
wearing performance wear suitable for trekking.
• Allan - Is born and raised Englishman speaking with a cockney accent.
Ageing has got him hard and his turning bald even-though he’s only in his
mid 50’s . It is also possible to see that Allan have lived a bit of rough past
since he got a few scars on hands and in his face. In the scenes at work
Allan is wearing scrubs and when his off work he wears a black 80’s
leather jacket, wide blue jeans and a pair of black leather shoes.
