DANIEL 6: 1-28
Who Is Daniel? He is a man …
8
But Daniel was a good
man. Day after day
Daniel lived as the Lord 9
10
… a plan that would trick 11
Daniel into disobeying
the king! And it wasn’t
long before the evil men
came up with a devious
idea.
12
The princes gathered
together outside the
palace and asked for
permission to appear
before the king.
The king was surprised
when he heard the
request. Such a thing
13
was not at all common,
as the rulers of the
provinces were called
together only by a royal
decree.
Still, the king was
curious. What was it the
princes wanted? It must 14
be very important,
thought the king,
otherwise the princes
would never dare to ask
for such a thing.
So the king gave them
permission to come 15
So Daniel continued to
pray before his open
window just as he had
done before.
And this was the
moment the princes
were waiting for. Daniel
was breaking the law!
According to the signed
decree, Daniel would be
thrown to the lions!
23
When the princes went
to the king and
demanded that Daniel
be thrown to the lions,
King Darius realised the 24
34
The dungeon was a square or rectangular type pit in the
ground, lined with rocks. These lions were in there. A
wall of masonry divided the area in half. The keeper
could open the gate in that wall from up above and throw
food in the other half. 35
36
Daniel continued to
pray. Was it possible
that God would save
Daniel from the lions?
When the 39
rays of the
morning sun told King
Darius that his night of
despair was over, the
king hurriedly dressed
himself…
40
… and he ran to the
place where the lions
were kept and ordered
the stone be taken
away.
41 The stone was removed
and the king cried out,
‘Daniel, servant of the
living God, is your God
able to deliver you from
the lions?’
42
And the King Darius
listened, hoping to hear
the voice of his friend.
‘O king, live forever,‘
came the reply.
‘My God has sent His
angel, and has shut the
lions’ mouths. They have

1. GOD’S PEOPLE MUST BE A LIVING WITNESS
"A stone was brought and
placed over the mouth of
the den, and the king sealed
it with his own signet ring
and with the rings of his
nobles, so that Daniel's
situation might not be
changed. Then the king
returned to his palace and 52

4. GOD’S PEOPLE NEVER GRUMBLING
Verse 22. Daniel explains it:-- "My God sent his angel
and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt
me because I was innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever
done any wrong before you, O king!"

5. OUR GOD IS A SAVING GOD
Verse 23-- "The king was
overjoyed and gave orders to lift
Daniel out of the den. And when
Daniel was lifted from the den, no
wound was found on him, because
he had TRUSTED in HIS God!" No
band-aids were needed. Why?
Because Daniel trusted in HIS
God. His God... That's personal, 62
isn't it? He didn't trust in just
some god out there: he trusted in
HIS God. The king was overjoyed.
Daniel's God is a saving God. Dear
Friend, trust in God.
5. OUR GOD IS A SAVING GOD
If God can save Daniel from lions,
• He can save you from sin.
• He can save you from alcohol.
• He can save you from foul language.
• God can save you from a bad temper.
• He can save you from tobacco.
• He can save you from whatever it is.

7. GOD’S PEOPLE NEVER SEEKS REVENGE
Daniel had faith, and just like
Jesus, Daniel was innocent.
Innocent, kind-hearted Daniel
just stood there before the
King smiling and happy. Daniel
did not even ask for revenge
to get even with his enemies.
He left that with God. He
didn't seek revenge. And 70

8. GOD’S PEOPLE ALWAYS BE A WINNER
God did not deliver Abel from Cain.
God did not deliver John the Baptist.
God did not deliver Stephen.
God did not even deliver Jesus Himself.

Daniel 6:28 "So Daniel prospered during the reign of Cyrus the
Persian". Old 85 year Daniel passed the ultimate test and this
78
senior statesman basked in God's rich blessings through all the
days of his life. We do not know how old Daniel was when his
last days came, but I am sure he never forgot that night with
the Lions. The score that night was the LIONS- Zero. The
ANGELS- One! True prosperity comes when we totally surrender
all to God's will.
