Operation Zarb e Azb
• Started on Jun 15, 2014 on the reaction of
militant attack on Karachi Airport
• 30000 army soldiers
• Appreciated by everyone but not by the
locals
• About 929,859 people belonging to 80,302
families from North Waziristan were
displaced as IDPs
• Operation is against militant groups i.e TTP,
Haqqani Network etc
Army a major stakeholder in FATA
• Development Sector
• FATA’s development funds are in their hands
• Visit the Governor House and Fata Secretariat to
get their proposed community uplift projects
• Reconstruction of roads, water supply schemes,
sewerage and other community welfare schemes
• Establishment of a couple of technical institutes
and rehabilitation centres for militants in Fata
• Such development projects had been a pain in the
neck for civilian authorities
• Cadet College at Sararogha, South Waziristan
• Army Public School Parachinar
PTM and their unheard demands
• Most of PTM demands are related to the law-
enforcement agencies
• Manzoor Pashteen and his aides have chosen a
peaceful and constitutional way to achieve their
goals.
• Strong voice for those whose voices were never
heard before.
• Manzoor Pashteen should be treated as a true
and loyal Pakistani and efforts made that he and
his movement aren’t misused by others.
• The authorities should take PTM and its demands
seriously before it becomes a potential threat
