USE?

• Usually used to change:


• TV channels
• Adjust volume
• Track number
• To turn the TV on and off
HISTORY OF TV REMOTE

• Early TV remotes used ultrasonic tones


• The first TV remote that was meant to be used on a
TV was made by Zenith Radio Corporation this was
in1950
• The remotes name was “Lazy Bones,” it connected
to the TV like a wire
• The forst wireless TV remote was made in 1955, it
was made by Eugene Polley
• The remotes name was “Flashmatic”
HOW DOES THE TV
REMOTE WORK?

• Many TV remotes use infrared light


• There is a signal between the remote control and
the device it controls, there are pulses sent between
them when buttons are pressed on the remote
• There is a light emitting diode that is on the end of
the remote that is where the pulses are sent from
• The pulses start a pattern that is only used for the
specific button, the receiver recognizes the pattern
that is sent to it and does what the pattern is
