GLASGRID® CG100L
100M RUN
KM221.0 – KM220.9SB
Project Site

Start from KM 221.00 – KM 220.90SB with a milled surface to 110mm at 3.9 – 4.1m width
Project Methodology
The pavement is to be milled to 110mm with a milling machine.

Brushed by a power brush and clean by a blower.

A layer of PMBE is to be sprayed with a sprayed with a mechanical sprayer with spray rate of 0.7
to 0.8L/m

2 rolls of Glassgrid CG100L is to be laid with 2 unwinder using the ‘pull & lay’ method
simultaneously side by side which covers 2m of width each with overlaps of 50mm to 100mm
longitudinally and 150mm traversal.

Toolbox Briefing

Toolbox briefing to discuss safety, hazards and methods.

Milling

Milled surface to 100mm at 3.9 – 4.1m width using a milling machine.

Brushing

Brushed by using a powerbrush.

Blowing

The site was then cleaned with a blower.

PMBE

• PMBE was applied at the spray rate of 0.7 to 0.8L

with a mechanical sprayer.

• Small amount of PMBE was filled in the 4

watering cans to be applied to the overlaps.

Pull up Test
• Pull up test was done after
the Glasgrid was
completely laid.

• The test result achieved 9kg

15kg/m2 to 19kg/m2 9kg
which exceeds the target 19kg
17kg
at 9kg/m2
Paving and Compacting
• Paver caused wrinkles when
it was passing.

• The is due to the PMBE not

fully cured and the lack of
contact between overlaps of
CG100L.

• The wrinkles was rectified

immediately by laying the
asphalt chips onto the
wrinkles to weight it down.
