INTRODUCTION TO NATIONAL
DEWORMING Day
What is national deworming day?
 The national deworming day is observed on August 10th and 17th by the
ministry of health and family welfare.
Its main objective is to De-worm the children between the ages of (1-19) at
schools and anganwadi centres.
Necessity of De-worming children?
Worm infections can cause anaemia malnourshiment Impaired mental and
physical development and may cause a serious threat to childrens health
education and productivity.According to a study the infected children cannot
concentrate on their studies and they find very hard to put up their daily
activities .
Reason for selecting the topic
I have selected the topic “National Deworming day” because it is a
general awareness topic about childrens health and education
 It is a necessary to have knowledge about this topic.
 It is beneficial to the soceity .
 It is helpful to the children.
 It ensures welfare of the children.
 It is helpful in empowering the children and society.
 It ensures quality of life to children.
 It improves the health of the children.
 The children can concentrate on their studies.
SCOPE OF NATIONAL DEWORMING

 It gives job oppurtunity for many people.


 It helps in educating children and parents.
 It helps in keeping the surroundings clean in one way.
 Childrens can inculcate good habits in their life.
 It helps to motivate schools to arrange many more awareness
programmes in the future.
OBJECTIVES OF CARRYING OUT
THE PROJECT OF NATIONAL
DEWORMING DAY
To know about the national De-worming day kit contents.

The contents include Albendazole 400mg tablets,IEC materials for schools


and anganwadi centres that includes posters and banners etc,Handouts and
reporting forms
To know about the dosage of albendazole tablets and its administration
To know about the responsibilities after de-worming day
To know about the Do’s and Dpmt’s for school and Anganwadi to avoid any
severe adverse effects

 I learnt so many things about National deworming day


process.
 I learnt how the process is carried on.
 I learnt about the dosage of albendazole tablets given to
the children.
 I learnt about the roles and responsibilities of different
departments.
 I learnt how to deworm the children.

Hands must be washed before and after


 Before taking food of any type and any time.
 After using the toilet.
 After handling raw food.
 After coughing, sneezing, eating, drinking, or smoking.
 After licking fingers.
 After every break
 After handling waste.
