 This paper gives information to build a miniature of bottling plant.
 To accomplish this PLC have been used.
 A programmable logic controller (PLC) or programmable controller is a
digital computer used for automation of electromechanical processes.
 Manufacturers do face main problems like: higher costs and increased
production time.
 Nowadays, reduction in cost, wastage and production time is the
challenges for industries.
 To reduce water usage, increase efficiency and minimize the production
time for pure water industries new technologies are required.
 System must be fully automated and free of human errors with high
precision are major expectations of such systems.

2
 Automation is used for all control system and
technologies in PLC is use to reduce the human work
helps in increasing the production.
 PLC plays an important role in the world of
automation industry.
 It acts a major function in the automation field which
tends to reduce the complexity, increase safety and
cost efficient.
 This paper also contains an application of automation
in filling into bottles by using PLC.

3
To have low power consumption, low
project cost, flexibility and high
reliability.
To generate industrial bottle design and
realize design according to market
expectation.
To increase productivity, better quality in
less time.

4
 Cost effective
 Simple construction
 Easy interfacing
 High reliability
 Convenient maintenance
 Fast speed
 Programming flexibility

PLC

A Programmable Logic Controller, PLC is a

digital computer used for automation. It is an interface
between program and the inputs. It is a programmable
software.
A PLC is an example of a real time application
and therefore used to control various devices.

7
 The Human Machine Interface is the interface which
permits interaction between a human being and a
machine.
 The HMI is the controller operating panel. Through
HMI panel operator can check the current status of
the system communicated with the operator.
 The user can also ON or OFF various functions from
interface.
 The HMI was created by Siemens TIA software.

8
Itis an electromagnetic valve used to
control various types of liquids by
opening and closing automatically.
Various types of applications are
performed by using this solenoid valve.

9
 Proximity sensor is a sensing device which sense objects
nearly without any physical contact up to nominal range
or sensor’s vicinity.
 Proximity sensor uses to detect the presence of bottle.
 This sensor placed before filling unit from where the
empty bottles passes.
Position sensor
 Position sensors are basically sensors for measuring the
distance travelled by the body starting from its reference
position.
 The position sensor used to sense the position of bottle on
a conveyor .

10
11
 Ladder logic is the main programming method used
in PLC.
 The relay logic diagrams are difficult, hence we have
selected ladder logic as main programming method.
 A relay is a device that controls a switch using
magnetic field.

12
13
 When the start button is pushed, the motor starts hence the
conveyor belt starts moving.
 When the bottle is under the solenoid valve, the bottle is
sensed and the motor stops hence the conveyor belt stops.
 Then the solenoid valve operates and the starts filling the
water.
 When the bottle completes filling process, the solenoid valve
is closed and the motor starts, the conveyor belt starts moving
and carries the bottle away from the solenoid valve.
 If another bottle is sensed then the above process will be
repeated.
 When stop button is pressed or activated then the entire
process will be stopped.
