Gayo society have formulated their principles of traditions that is called Kemalun ni
Edet.

There are four tradision principles, that is:


•Denie-terpancang is a self esteem that regards to our rights of a territory.
•Naha Teraku is a self esteem that regards to a valid position.
•Bela mutan is a self esteem that is disturbed because of another member of
that group that has been hurt or even murderd
•Malu tertawan is a self esteem that is disturbed because of women from a
member of their group been disturb or been slander by others.
SYSTEM

3. Setie means committed, steadfast or loyal establishment.
4. Semayang-gemasih meaning love.
5. Mutentu means diligent, tenacious, hard working or carrying out something
appropriate rules (neat).
6. Amanah comes from the Arabic, meaning reliable, honest and responsible
7. Genap-mupakat or keramat-mupakat is Gayo cultural values related to the
realization of social harmony
8. Alang-Tulung. This value confirms the existence of humans as social beings,
humans need social interaction that enables the process of giving and receiving
(give and take, not take and give as it is often called) as the glue of social
cohesion.
