Goals:
-Students will be able to describe their own culture and how it
has been affected by the United States.
-Students will be able to apply what they have learned about
the American Revolution and compare and contrast between
now and then
Objectives:
Content/Knowledge:
Students will be able to identify different cultures during the American
Revolution.
Process/Skills:
Students will be able to explain how culture has changed over
time.
Values/Dispositions:
Students will be able to demonstrate what cultural traditions they follow
and how they value their culture.

Rationale:
It is critical that all students understand that there is more to social
studies than memorizing facts and history. Students need to understand
why people acted the way that they did during the American Revolution
and the impacts it had on culture and the lasting impact it has left on the
United States.

Teaching: Students will learn about the different groups of people
during the American Revolution including their culture.
Learning Activity: Students will analyze the photo below and will
be assigned a group. The class will then have a discussion and
the students will play a role of who they are assigned expressing
their opinions and how they have been affected.

Americans during the American Revolution.

of how they would feel as a Native American during the
