Minister
Kevin Rudd
• Kevin Rudd or more often called Kevin Rudd was born in
Nambour, Queensland on 21 September 1957. Rudd is the
Prime Minister of Australia held in 2007-2010. Kevin Rudd
won victory over his political rival John Howard from the
Liberal Party. The Rudd-led Labor Party enjoys very high
support from the people of Australia.
• In terms of popularity, Kevin Rudd beat other leaders. Kevin
Rudd is known as the figure of a politician, legislator as well
as diplomat who is fluent in Mandarin.
• Kevin Rudd's leadership term in Australia is short (shortest
since 1971). However, Australia under the leadership of
Kevin Rudd became a country that was open to Asian
countries.

Julia Gillard
• Julia Gillard is a leader born outside the country she leads, her full
name is Julia Eileen Gillard who was born in Barry, Wales, England
on September 29, 1961.
• Prime Minister Julia Gillard started her political career while still an
art student and law at the University of Adelaide. Being a student of
art and law certainly facilitate Gillard in reviewing various rules
applied by the government, especially matters relating to the
workers. Julia Gillard had served as President of Australian
Students, and decided to move to the University of Melbourne.
• Armed with her leadership skills and experiences gained while still
at the University. Julia Gillard ventured to run for Lalor, Victoria in
1998. The parliament was still held by then Prime Minister John
Howard of the Liberal Party, because Gillard was from the Labor
Party and his position in the government was the opposition. His
political career increased until he became Deputy Kevin Rudd in
2007-2010

Tony Abbott
• Tony Abbott was born in London on September 4, 1941 with an Australian parent.
Married to a woman named Margaret Aitkin and has three children. Abbott
Started his undergraduate education at the University of Sydney majoring in
economics and legal science and earned his master's degree as Rhodes scholar at
Oxford University. Abbott has also studied to become a Catholic priest at St. Patrick
Seminary but not finished. He has worked as a journalist for The Buletine and The
Australia. This is the beginning of Abbott's political career. After plunging into a
journalist, Abbott spread its wings as a member of the NSW Labor Party.
• Abbott holds the position of Minister in several divisions such as the Minister of
Employment and Workplace Relations (2001-2003), Minister of Health and Old Age
(2003-2007). Abbot also served as Minister of Shadow for Family, Group Service,
Indigenous Peoples and Volunteers from 2007 to 2009. It was Abbott's role in
Howard's government as Member of Parliament and Minister. In 2009 it was then
elected as Opposition Leader who until now held. On 1 December 2009 Abbott's
coronation as Leader of the Australian Liberal Party. Until the 2010 election Abbott
continues to hold the position of Opposition Leader along with his deputy Julie
Bishop.

Malcolm Turnbull
• Malcolm Turnbull was born in Sydney, New South Wales, on 24
October 1954 to Bruce Bligh Turnbull and Coral Magnolia Lansbury.
His father is a hotel broker, and his mother is a radio actor, writer
and academician.
• Turnbull attended the Sydney Grammar School before continuing to
the University of Sydney, where he received an art degree and a law
degree. He then attended Brasenose College, Oxford, as Rhodes
Scholar, where he earned a Bachelor of Civil Law.
• In early 2007, Turnbull was appointed Environment and Water
Minister, a position he held until federal elections in November
2007. In December of that year he was appointed Treasurer, and in
September 2008 was elected Leader of the Opposition until
December 2009 From September 2013 to September 2015 he is the
Minister of Communications. He was elected Liberal Party Leader
and Prime Minister on September 14, 2015.
