Its celebration is movable and follows the carnival calendar, usually presented between the months of February to March prior to Ash Wednesday. In Abancay the carnival was danced, beginning the day before the Dominican carnival and finishing on Ash Wednesday, which was the day of farewell, although some people used to do it on the following Thursday, as a finale to the carnival festivities.
