Conformity Assessment Requirements
What does CA-1 Contain (cont’d)?
• Evaluation of the Quality
Management System – General
requirements for what the ASME
Designee does to verify the
Certificate Holder complies with
the written Quality System and
Code requirements are met.
• Issuance of Certification – How
ASME grants Authorization to use
the ASME Certification Mark.
• Accreditation of Testing
Laboratories (Pressure Relief

• The Standard has NOT made any changes to any of the conformity

taken the current administrative requirements that appear in all of the
various books and placed them in one book where users can go to
determine what the requirements are.

Conformity Assessment Requirements
• We commit to a working solution to enable each Standards
Committee to have a method to ensure they have a way to
comment on any technical changes to the conformity assessment
process.
• Current thought is to have a procedure adopted that requires all
changes to the standard to be balloted to the Standards
Committee members for review and approval.
• Addenda's to Codes and Standards Policies (CSPs) are
another method under consideration.
