INTRODUCTION
CHANDIGARH was the first planned city after independence
from British rule in 1947. It is the capital city of the states
of Punjab and Haryana.

It drives its name from a temples “Chandi Mandir” located in


the vicinity of the site selected for the city.

• Un-Indian and yet inspiration of architects.

The roads of the city were classified into seven
categories, known as the system of 7 Vs.

V-4 Free Flowing shopping streets;
