GLOBAL WARMING

a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere generally attributed to
the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and
other pollutants.
Causes of
global warming
• Green House Effect
Green house effect is a rise in the earth’s
temperature by certain atmospheric gases
such as carbon dioxide that trap the sun’s energy
• Deforestation
An activity of cutting out trees in the forests
in with the purpose of development of that
particular place deforestation could lead to
less carbon dioxide being absorbed (for
photosynthesis process) and causing much
more of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
• Burning of fossil fuels
The burning of fossil fuels produces nitrous
oxide, a powerful greenhouse gas produced
by soil cultivation practices. This will cause
more greenhouse effects to happen.
EFFECTS OF GLOBAL
WARMING
Severe climatic changes

The loss of biodiversity

Soil erosion

Flash flood

Landslides

Affects carbon and nitrogen

cycles
Ways to overcome
global warming
• REFORESTATION
REDUCE THE BURNING OF
FOSSIL FUELS
USE NATURAL SOURCES OF
ENERGY LIKE WIND,
SOLAR AND WAVE
ENERGY
PRACTICE THE 4R, REUSE,
REDUCE, RECYCLE AND
RECOVER
EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON
GLOBAL WARMING
