PSYCHROMETRIC CHART

1. Humidity (HA) Vs Temperature: (TDB)
• Humidity is plotted on right sided y- axis and temperature is
plotted on x-axis.
• Curved lines started from lower left hand corner and sloping
upward to the right are representing different values of %
relative humidity.
• The uppermost curve (100%HR) gives the maximum amount
of water which can be carried by 1 kg of air at any
temperature. This line called saturation curve.
• Any point on curved line represents the temperature and
humidity.
• Curved line marked as 100% gives humidity of the saturated
air at various temperature.

2. Specific Volume of dry air (V0) Vs
Temperature: (TDB)
volume of air plotted on left sided y-axis and temperature is
plotted on bottom x-axis.
Temperature increases the volume also increases the volume also
increases and it is straight line.
3. The saturated volume (Vs) Vs Temperature
This is the volume of air occupied by 1 kg of air which is
associated with water vapor.
This is increases rapidly with increase in temperature.

4. Humid Heat (Cs) Vs Humidity: (HA)
It is plotted as left top corner on x-axis with humidity as the y-
axis.
5. Adiabatic cooling lines:
This is lines are represented in chart as straight inclined lines with
each line starting at the 100% HR and sloping downward to
the right.
This lines used to determine humidity from WBT and DBT.
This lines shows changes in humidity during drying under
adiabatic conditions.
From the point of intersection of WBT and DBT if draw parallel
line to X-axis toward right side we can get Hunidity.
Parallel curved line from intersection to WBT towards top we can
get % HR,
