EPIC : DEFINITION
O Noun : a long poem that tells the
deeds and adventures of heroic or
legendary figures, or the history of a
nation.
O Adjectives : heroic, meaningful,
timeless and impressively great
O The epic is one of the world’s oldest
literary forms.
CHARACTERISTICS OF ALL EPICS
O Epics are written as a long, poems or use lofty,
poetic language.
O Heroes in the story have qualities that the
culture as a whole values.
O Heroes in the story are important people of
high standing in society.
O The setting is vast: heroes go on a journey.
O There are gods or supernatural forces involved
in the story.
