Thailand is a Constitutional Monarchy country located in Southeast Asia.
Under the Constitutional Monarchy, the head of Thai state is a King and the
Head of Government is a Prime Minister. The total area of Thailand is
513,120 km2 with a population of 68,200,824 people. The majority of Thai
people are ethnic Thai and Buddhist.
In foreign relations, Thailand is one of the founding countries of ASEAN along
with Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines. The city of Bangkok
which is the capital of Thailand is the city where the ASEAN economic and
geo-political organization was founded. Apart from being a member of
ASEAN, Thailand is also a member of the United Nations and UN agencies
and members of APEC and Interpol. Thailand is also known as the only
country in Southeast Asia that has never been colonized by European
countries.
