The Apostles’ Creed
I Believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of
heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; Who
was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of
Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried; He
descended into hell; the third day He rose
again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the
right hand of God the Father Almighty; from
thence He shall come to judge the quick and
the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Universal
Church; the communion of saints; the
forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the
body; and the life everlasting. Amen
• Praise and worship
Arise
One thing we ask of you
One thing that we desire
That as we worship you
Lord come and change our lives
Arise, arise, arise, arise
Arise, take your place
Be enthroned on our praise
Arise king of kings
Holy God, as we sing
Arise, arise
We lift you up
We lift you up
We lift you up
On our praises
Arise, arise, arise, arise
Arise, take your place
Be enthroned on our praise
Arise king of kings
Holy God, as we sing
Arise, arise
Sing for Joy
If We Call To Him,
He Will Answer Us
If We Run To Him,
He Will Run To Us
If We Lift Our Hands,
He Will Lift Us Up
Come Now Praise His Name
O You Saints Of God
O Sing For Joy
To God Our Strength
Our Strength
Draw Near To Him,
He Is Near To Us
Give Him Your Love,
He’s In Love With Us
He Will Heal Our Hearts
He Will Cleanse Our Hands
If We Rend Our Hearts
He Will Heal Our Land.
O Sing For Joy
To God Our Strength
Our Strength
Here I am to worship
Light Of The World,
You Stepped Down
Into Darkness
Opened My Eyes Let Me See
Beauty That Made
This Heart Adore You
Hope Of A Life
Spent With You
Here I Am To Worship,
Here I Am To Bow Down
Here I Am To Say That You’re My God
You’re Altogether Lovely,
Altogether Worthy,
Altogether Wonderful To Me
King Of All Days,
Oh So Highly Exalted,
Glorious In Heaven Above
Humbly You Came
To The Earth You Created,
All For Love’s Sakes
Became Poor
Here I Am To Worship,
Here I Am To Bow Down
Here I Am To Say That You’re My God
You’re Altogether Lovely,
Altogether Worthy,
Altogether Wonderful To Me
I’ll Never Know, How Much It Cost
To See My Sin
Upon That Cross
Here I Am To Worship,
Here I Am To Bow Down
Here I Am To Say That You’re My God
You’re Altogether Lovely,
Altogether Worthy,
Altogether Wonderful To Me
I will sing
Lord, You seem so far away
A million miles or more, it feels today
And though I haven't lost my faith
I must confess right now
That it's hard for me to pray
But I don't know what to say
And I don't know where to start
But as You give the grace
With all that's in my heart
I will sing, yes, I will praise, even in my darkest hour
Through the sorrow and the pain
I will sing, I will praise, lift my hands to honor You
Because Your word is true, I will sing
Lord it's hard for me to see all the thoughts
And plans You have for me, yes it is
But I will put my trust in You
Knowing that you died to set me free
Oh thank God You did

But I don't know what to say

And I don't know where to start
But as you give the grace
With all that's in my heart
I will sing, I will praise, even in my darkest hour
Through the sorrow and the pain
I will sing, I will praise, lift my hands to honor You
Because Your word is true

• Passage: Gen 11:27-12:20
• 27 This is the account of Terah. Terah became the
father of Abram, Nahor and Haran. And Haran
became the father of Lot.
• 28 While his father Terah was still alive, Haran died
in Ur of the Chaldeans, in the land of his birth.
• 29 Abram and Nahor both married. The name of
Abram's wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor's
wife was Milcah; she was the daughter of Haran,
the father of both Milcah and Iscah.
• 30 Now Sarai was barren; she had no children.
• 31 Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot
son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai,
the wife of his son Abram, and together they
set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to
Canaan. But when they came to Haran, they
settled there.
• 32 Terah lived 205 years, and he died in Haran.
• 12:1 The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your
country, your people and your father's
household and go to the land I will show you.
• 2 "I will make you into a great nation and I will
bless you; I will make your name great, and
you will be a blessing.
• 3 I will bless those who bless you, and
whoever curses you I will curse; and all
peoples on earth will be blessed through you."
• 4 So Abram left, as the LORD had told him; and
Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five
years old when he set out from Haran.
• 5 He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the
possessions they had accumulated and the people
they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for
the land of Canaan, and they arrived there.
• 6 Abram traveled through the land as far as the
site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At
that time the Canaanites were in the land.
• 7 The LORD appeared to Abram and said, "To your
offspring I will give this land." So he built an altar
there to the LORD, who had appeared to him.
• 8 From there he went on toward the hills east of
Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west
and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the
LORD and called on the name of the LORD.
• 9 Then Abram set out and continued toward the
Negev.
• 10 Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram
went down to Egypt to live there for a while
because the famine was severe.
• 11 As he was about to enter Egypt, he said to his
wife Sarai, "I know what a beautiful woman you are.
• 12 When the Egyptians see you, they will say, 'This
is his wife.' Then they will kill me but will let you
live.
• 13 Say you are my sister, so that I will be treated
well for your sake and my life will be spared
because of you."
• 14 When Abram came to Egypt, the Egyptians saw
that she was a very beautiful woman.
• 15 And when Pharaoh's officials saw her, they
praised her to Pharaoh, and she was taken into his
palace.
• 16 He treated Abram well for her sake, and Abram
acquired sheep and cattle, male and female
donkeys, menservants and maidservants, and
camels.
• 17 But the LORD inflicted serious diseases on
Pharaoh and his household because of Abram's wife
Sarai.
• 18 So Pharaoh summoned Abram. "What have you
done to me?" he said. "Why didn't you tell me she
was your wife?
• 19 Why did you say, 'She is my sister,' so that I
took her to be my wife? Now then, here is
your wife. Take her and go!"
• 20 Then Pharaoh gave orders about Abram to
his men, and they sent him on his way, with
his wife and everything he had.

Abram’s call
• Key verse: 12:2
"I will make you into a great nation and I will
bless you; I will make your name great and you

wickedness on the earth had become, and
that every inclination of the thoughts of his
heart was only evil all the time

• (Gen 6:9)“Noah was a righteous man,

blameless among the people of his time, and
he walked with God”
• (Eph 2:8) For it is by grace you have been
saved, through faith — and this not from
yourselves, it is the gift of God

• Joshua 24:2 Joshua said to all the people, "This is what

the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'Long ago your

and we bear their punishment.

• Dan 9:16 “O Lord, in keeping with all your

righteous acts, turn away your anger and your
wrath from Jerusalem, your city, your holy hill.
Our sins and the iniquities of our fathers have
made Jerusalem and your people an object of

• Part two: God’s call for Abram

• 1The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country,

your people and your father's household and go to
the land I will show you.

• 2 "I will make you into a great nation and I will

bless you; I will make your name great, and you

and whoever curses you I will curse; and all
peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. "As
the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways
higher than your ways and my thoughts than your

• (Isa 9:6-7) 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given,

and the government will be on his shoulders. And he
will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of
his government and peace there will be no end. He will
reign on David's throne and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it with justice and
righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal
of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
• (Matt 28:19-20) Therefore go and make disciples of
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and
teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely I am with you always,
to the very end of the age.“

• 4So Abram left, as the LORD had told him; and Lot

to your unfailing love; according to your great
compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away
all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. Create
in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast

The Lord’s prayer
Our Father, which art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom
come, Thy will be done on earth as it is
in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive
our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from the evil: For Thine is
the kingdom, and the power, and the
glory, forever.
