•Exodus – departure of the Israelites from Egypt
•Numbers – symbolism for union and oneness,
companionship, witness, division, etc.
•Leviticus - containing the laws relating to priests and
Levites
•Deuteronomy – literally means "second law“ in Greek

Earlier Prophets – considered as historical because


it tells the story of ancient Israel, from the arrival in
Canaan to the destruction of the kingdom of Judah
and the Babylonian Exile.

Latter prophets - contains sayings and stories of the


prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and other minor
prophets.
