BACKGROUND
• The hospital is a medical service unit is very
complex, which hospitalized patients receive
intravenous therapy via infusion. Infusion is a
medical therapy performed invasive for
supplying fluids, electrolytes, nutrients and
medications through the blood vessels.
• The role of nurses in delegate tasks to
perform maintenance infusion therapy can
act as a care giver. The involvement of nurses
in the delivery of infusion therapy has
implications responsibility in preventing the
occurrence of complications and discomfort
to the patient.
BACKGROUND
Inflammatory disorders vein phlebitis is caused
by the type of material cannula, chemical
irritation that comes from the additional
substances and drugs (eg antibiotics) given
intravenously as well as anatomical position
cannula. Signs and symptoms include pain,
edema, erythema, increased skin temperature
around the vein, and in some cases, redness
place of insertion or along the venous line.
BACKGROUND
• Although each room has a fixed
program on how the installation and
maintenance infusion, but in practice
the infusion treatments such as
checking a stabbing every day,
replace the bandage in patients who
mounted an infusion, and others, in
fact, still exist who do not.
• Prevent and minimize the effects of
infusion that can result in infection
particularly phlebitis , it must seek an
optimal treatment .
PROBLEM FORMULATION
Based on the description of the
background of the above, the
authors make the formulation
of the problem in the study "Is
there a relationship
implementation of Operational
Performance Standard (SOP)
infusion with phlebitis
occurrences in the Installation
Emergency and Space Medicine
Hospital Cianjur in 2015?".
The General of Research
The general objective of this study was to determine
the relationship of the implementation of standard
operating procedures with the incidence of infusion
phlebitis in the Installation Emergency and Space
Medicine at the General Hospital of Cianjur.
The Special of Research
a. Knowing overview of the implementation of the
Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) infusion by
Installation Emergency nurse.

b. Knowing the incidence of phlebitis in patients

treated in space medicine.

c. Analyze the relationship implementation

Oprasional Standard Procedure (SOP) infusion by
nurses with phlebitis incidence in patients in Space
Medicine Hospital Cianjur.

The method used is the analytic survey research
methods using a cohort study design is research
that tries to find out why these health problems
can occur, then do the analysis of the
relationship between risk factors (factors that
influence the effect) with the effect of factors
(factors that are influenced by risk), in this case
the researchers want to know the relation with
the implementation of the SOP infusion phlebitis
occurrences, where the risk factor (SOP
implementation infusion) the observed first and
then a short time later the new researchers can
determine the effects (incidence of phlebitis)
after monitoring the future (prospective) ie at
least about 3 to 4 days.
POPULATION AND SAMPLE
• The population in this study were
nurses IGD hospitals Cianjur in 2015
as many as 42 people.
• Sample collection method used is by
using total sampling technique
(Sampling saturated), which is a
technique of fixing the sample by
taking all members of the population
to be used as samples. Thus the
number of samples taken as many as
42 nurses.
Significance test performed
using α = 0.05 and confidence
interval (CI) 95% to the
provisions if:
p-value > 0.05 means Ho failed
rejected (p> α). The statistical
test showed no significant
correlation.
p-value ≤ 0.05 means that Ho is
rejected (p≤α). The statistical
test showed is significant
correlation.
