achievement. History • 1839: Bladen county schools began, after the state passed its first common school law.
• 1966-1967: Bladen County had 9 schools for black
students and 8 schools for white students.
• 1971: Bladen county schools was fully integrated.
• 2018: Bladen County Schools has 13 schools and a early
college. Need • An increase in community resources. EX: mental health resources.
• School social workers, to assist and provide
services to students.
• Funding. Future Direction • Seeking to have 100% graduation rate.
• Increase in attendance rate to 100%.
• Constant decrease in drop out-rate.
• Master Read to Achieve program to improve reading skills.
