Muscle Diseases

Muscle Cramp
A sudden and involuntary contraction of one or
more muscles.
• Symptoms: sharp pain, discomfort, weakness,
hard lump of muscle tissue beneath the skin.
• Causes: Inadequate blood supply, nerve
compression, mineral depletion.
• Risk factors: age, dehydration, pregnancy,
medical condition.
Tendinitis
Inflammation or irritation of the tendon.
• Symptoms: pain or tenderness at or near a
joint, stiffness, mild swelling.
• Causes: overuse or repetitive movements of
muscles and tissues involved.
Muscular dystrophy
A group of diseases that lead to weakness and
loss of muscle mass.
• Symptoms: weakness, loss of muscle mass,
trouble breathing and swallowig, lose of
walking ability (severe).
• Causes: abnormal gene mutation.
