Parrots

THE ANATOMY OF A PARROT

 Flexible tongues are for food.


 They have a hooked bill that is very strong.
 King parrots have bright colors.
 Parrots have excellent eyesight.
 Green wings are used for camouflage.
THE HABITAT OF A PARROT

 Parrots live in tropical forests.


 Some live in cactus plants.
 Many live in termite mounds.
 They can even be in the wetlands of central Brazil.
 You can find them in Africa or Asia.
THE LIFE CYCLE OF A PARROT

 Parrots’ eggs are round and white.


 When they hatch most don’t have feathers.
 They are born with their ears and eyes closed.
 Larger parrots take longer to hatch.
 After a while they learn to fly.
THE INTERESTING FACTS OF A PARROT

 Parrots eat nectar, seeds, nuts and berries.


 They can be 99-100 cm!
 Large flocks are what parrots fly in.
 Noise is what they like to make.
 They can weigh up to four pounds.
