A N AT I O N C H A N G I N G S O C I A L I N I T I AT I V E
WHAT IS DACC?
• A formal group of students from Class 5th to 9th who choose
Civics/Citizenship
• No forced membership – Only volunteers
• 2 - 5 students per class
• 1 Hour per week for activities
• Facilitators are DACC members under the supervision of DA teacher
• Only action/activity, no lecture
• Motive is to create Alert, Informed, and Active young citizens for
future
HOW TO OPEN A DACC?
• Announce the DACC formation in your school
• Call for participation from class 5th -9th
Announce • Decide the date and create a small event for election and launch

• Hold an election – formal or just voting for office bearers


• Announce the result
Elect • Brief roles and responsibilities for office bearers and other members

• Make DACC launch as big as you can


• Call local govt. officials as chief guest for members to feel motivated as young citizens
• Start the club by taking DA pledge and distribute badges
Launch • DACC president will present the motive and plan of action of club for the Academic year

• Follow Annual planner/monthly activities provided by DA and conduct activities or


• Pick and choose activities and prepare your own planner
• Weekly 1 activity is recommended
Implement • Monthly 2 activities are recommended, 3-4 activities per month are desirable for longer impact

OFFICE BEARERS-FUNCTIONS
• Record the minutes of all meetings
• Keep a file of the club’s records
• Maintain a current roster of membership
Secretary • Issue notices of meetings and conduct the general
correspondence of the club

• Receive all funds and process Request for Payment, Deposit


Treasurer Slip, and Officer Signature Forms.
• Keep an itemized account of all receipts and expenditures
and make reports as directed
OFFICE BEARERS-FUNCTIONS
• Maintain an interface with the management / trustees of the
activities and programs sponsored by the student club.
• Meet on a regular basis with the Office bearers of DACC to
Teachers discuss upcoming meetings, long range plans, goals, and
problems of the club.
• Attend meetings regularly.
• Assist in the orientation of new officers.
• Maintain contact with the DA Core Committee.
• Provide direction in the area of parliamentary procedure,
meeting facilitation, group-building, goal setting, and program
planning.
• Assist the club treasurer in monitoring expenditures,
fundraising activities, and corporate sponsorship to maintain an
accurate and up-to-date account ledger.
• Inform club members of those factors that constitute
unacceptable behavior on the part of the club members, and
the possible consequence of said behaviors.
• Regular feedback and Reports to DA programme team
