Site Selection
• Gross site preparation may be completed by the MPF
NMCB detachment. The magnitude and duration of
preparation will vary from site to site, however, the
grading requirements for the medical core is between
1% and 2%.
• NEMSS requires approx 22-28 Acres.
• EMF requires approx 2-17 Acres.
• Casualty Receiving through Intensive Care are set up
contiguously (2 Acres).
• Acute Care Wards (1.6 to 3.2 Acres), Food Service,
and Public Works must be nearby.
• Berthing, Motor Transport, and Laundry can be
established at remote sites at the cost of manpower,
transportation, and efficiency.
