CASE III
SCENARIO

From rapid advances in biomedical and DNA

technology, the scientists successfully created acloned
sheep in 1996. Futhermore, there’s a willingness to
implement cloning in humans improving the quality of
future generations. Controversy arises because of the
difference point of view between the social
observers,bioethics and scientist

MIND PROBLEM

1. How the history of cloning?

2. How the application of cloning in humans?
3. What are the advantages and disadvantages of
cloning in humans?
4. How cloning technology viewed from different
points?
ANALYSIS PROBLEM
1.The History of Cloning Is :
 In 1885 the first cloning of the sea urchin by Hans Adolf
Eduard Driesch
 1902 cloning on the salamander vertebrae by Hans
Spemann
 1958 cloning on a frog by John Gurdon
 1975 cloning on a rabbit by J. Derek Bromhall
 1987 cloning on cows by First Neal, Randal Prather, and
Willard Eyestone
 1997 cloning on sheep dolly by Ian Wilmut, Keith
Campbell, and Angelika Schnieke
 2003 successfully gave birth to the first cloned man named
Eve in bahama,by Clonaid biotechnology company
ANALYSIS PROBLEM
2. The Cloning prosses is :
Incorporation
Isolation of Retrieval of cell
of stem cells
DNA fragments nucleus
and egg cells

Insertion of Retrieval of
Embryo division
DNA fragments stem cells

DNA Cloning Embryo

transformation selection implementation
ANALYSIS PROBLEM
3. The advantages and disadventages of clonig in
human is :
--Advantages--
 Can develop science especially in the field of
reproduction-embriology and differentiation,
 Overcoming infertility.
 Contribute to therapy.
 Growing a new species free of hereditary diseases

4. Cloning from different view
Bioethics
.
• Refused kloning in humans because lose of human dignity and
degrees

Social
• In the field of social cloning greatly affects the mutual
relationship between individuals with one another.

Religions
• Cloning is not permissible because it is deemed to grant the will
of a god that gives life and violates the nature that has been set

Law
• The law imposes sanctions for people who make a pregnancy
effort out of a natural way that violates the terms. ketentualnya
one of them is to use sperm and ovum from pasanga husband
and wife, not only from one party only.
CONCLUSION
Cloning in humans is very promising for the
development of science and has several advantages in
it. But not all countries can accept the application of
cloning to humans because it is contrary to some
aspects of life, such as Indonesia. Indonesia recognizes
6 religions and religions that no one supports cloning
in humans because it is considered to violate the
nature of God. in addition Indonesian law is not in line
with cloning because the law will sanction pregnancy
efforts that use cells only from one party only. So its
need a research more.
ADVICE
There are still many ways to advance the quality
of future generations, not only by cloning. for example
by improving the quality of education and supporting
the self-development of the young generation
